It’s time to face some extraterrestrial monsters and do a whole lot of shooting, killing, cyclops eye gouging, and blowing up lots of stuff with the upcoming latest Serious Sam 3: BFE video game!

The game is a first person shooter that is developed by Croteam and published by Devolver Digital. Serious Sam 3 utilizes the Serious Engine 3 and is for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.  It’s due out on August 4, 2011.

Fans of the Serious Sam series will see that this game is a prequel to the franchise’s first game. The setting is the 22nd Century when the evil Mental is invading Earth in Egypt. So you’ll be battling hordes of space monsters, mutants, the Headless Kamikaze and you’ll be jamming with an incredible 16 player co-op mode. That many players makes it sound like if you shoot too many monsters the computer screen might start bleeding.

That’s because the team at Croteam realized something very important, what worked well to launch a successful franchise is what game developers need to remember and duplicate but add more punch to it. This makes the games stand on a solid foundation that fans can depend on to deliver the content they love and leaves lots of room for improvements, surprises, and some testing of new characters, weapons, and strategies. This will allow for users to send feedback to the developers so they know what works and what the fans like or dislike. It then enables the developers to design more excellent games that the long term players enjoy but also dazzles the newbies.

Now let’s get down to design and graphics. It’s difficult to find better. This team of art designers under the art director went to the mat to bring scary, comical, dangerous, and astound creatures to the screen as well as an environment so deep in detail that when one of the rampaging alien monsters comes crashing through a wall you blink to keep the dust from getting in your eyes. The monsters range from lumbering cybernetic ogres to spider like minions who attack en masse. If you’re scared of squids and octopi then the tentacle alien chick will freak you out.

The developers have favorites and surprises in store such as capture the flag, survival mode, death matches and more. It’s basically a game that is designed as 100% fun. Just waves and waves of enemies to destroy. You can use your sledgehammer, hand guns, and more to smash and bash your way to victory. The developers knew the fans didn’t want some heavy laden story thing going on but wanted that old school return of the first person shooter like with Quake and Doom. So they jam packed this game, Serious Sam 3: BFE with as much destructive potential as possible. That’s all there is! Just non stop shooting, bashing, eye gouging, grenade launching melee action using the latest in gaming technology.

So if you get this PC game one released, get ready to just play and enjoy it for what it is. With the massive 16 player co-op mode you can have Serious Sam parties that can last for hours and hours on end where you all take on as many of the forces of Mental in an all out throw down that is sure to leave blood, debris, and icky monster carcasses all over the place. Don’t even worry about lacking people to play with. The fans of this game are loving the turn back toward the old school approach and are surprisingly so supportive of the game that they’ll welcome anyone to come on in and play.

You should make new friends easily and that’s what a great game can do, build up a community of new friends who not only enjoy the game but become a growing community of players to the point they make a world of their own.

Action, suspense, mayhem, and lots of comedy, this game Serious Sam 3: BFE has it all and more. Not long to wait to see if it can enter our Top 10 PC Games of 2011.
