Crytek have set the benchmark in the past for computer gamers. Even though the original Crysis was launched way back in 2007, it is still one of the first bought games PC gamers buy when they are testing out their new rig. When most of us buy a new graphics card we want to test our newly bought GPU to its fullest potential and Crysis was always known to set the benchmark when it came to computer graphics.
Fast forward to 2011 and Crytek have greeted us with Crysis 2. Yes we have seen some add-on’s during this time, though Crysis 2 was fully rebuilt from the ground up using Crytek’s new CryEngine 3. The original might have been in the list of top 10 PC games back in 2007, though can the successor live up to the hype it created for itself?
For Crysis 2 to make it into the top 10 pc games, it really does have to live up to a very high standard. Originally promised to be DX11 based, it took Crytek 3 months to release a patch to “enable” DX11 which included higher texture resolutions as well as DX11 based features, such as tessellation and displacement mapping.
You’ll have to hold fans of Crytek’s sequel, Crysis 2 down to the floor as this game has them losing their minds. It had gamers who dieven play sci-fi games wondering what Crytek was going to do with this game and the cool battle suit worn by its protagonist.
The game is developed by Crytek Frankfurt and Crytek UK and published by EA. It utilizes the CryEngine3 and is for platforms PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
As fans know, the story takes place in 2023 in New York City after things have gone from bad to worse. Aliens called the Ceph and some weird disease that messes people up, combined with a half destroyed city leads to just about the scenario you would expect from the first game. Some familiar characters and themes come in from the first two but in this particular incarnation you end up playing as a Force Recon Marine named “Alcatraz”.
That is a tough name. Anyhow, you get to wear this totally rippin’ combat suite called the Nanosuit 2.0 which is basically a kick ass suit for allowing him to kick butt and take a beating as he dishes out death to alien invaders who are bent on taking over Earth and spreading diseases and knocking down buildings.

Given the above you’ll be fighting an alien menace and of course other government operatives you had better know your Nanosuit 2.0 up and down if you want to survive.
The overall story plotline thing is so immense it would take days to explain it all. Never the less all a gamer wants to know is whether the game is worth the money and it is. Why? Because this game is huge. It’s loaded with action, and bear in mind that it has some of the best developers, engineers, graphics, voice and music talent in the gaming world.

Finally, the amount of action in the gameplay is enough to say it looks and acts like the traditional first-person shooter and that is a foundation to just about every game out here.
